Gigi Turbow Marx, Founding Principal
Ms. Turbow Marx is uniquely qualified as a financial planner. She
earned a BA in Economics from the University of Michigan with
Honors, and an MBA in Finance from Columbia University in New
York. Combined with over thirty years in the capital markets, she
offers her clients both breadth and depth of financial knowledge.
There are few market situations she has not witnessed first hand,
whether in the equity, bond or currency markets. She has served
as a currency advisor to corporate clients of Citibank and Bank
of America; an investment banker for Dean Witter Reynolds and
PaineWebber, structuring municipal bonds and related credit
presentations for rating agencies; sold PaineWebber's flagship
asset allocation research to institutional equity investors, and
advised the investor relations programs of a number of publicly
traded companies.
After founding Old Field Advisors, Ms.Turbow Marx was quick to
adapt institutional tools for hedging risk to the management of
individual portfolios. She contributed what turned out to be a
remarkably timely piece on hedging portfolio risks with listed options
to Wiley Publishing's 2008 issue, Investing in an Uncertain Economy
for Dummies.
Financial planning allows her to bring together her wide ranging
knowledge of the financial markets, to assist those whose needs
aren’t well met by traditional planners and investment managers.
Ms. Turbow Marx specializes in assisting clients with
- concentrated holdings, resulting from equity
- compensation or low basis stock, or with
- distribution portfolios.
She is also associated with MTP Advisors LLC, where she manages
MTP Advisors' Solutions Group.
